Great Things Come In Small Packages – The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross

If you’re looking for a sub-compact SUV that has all big features, but in smaller packaging, then look no further than the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross. Positioned below the RAV4 in Toyota’s lineup due to it’s slightly smaller size, the Corolla Cross boasts 2.0L Dynamic Force, all-wheel-drive for all weather performance, impressive versatility, a deep roster of advanced technologies, and a remarkably spacious interior. The 2022 Corolla Cross is not only good for long journeys, but any adventure you’re planning.

Key Features

Although the Cross has the familiar Corolla name, it is not a variation of the current line of Corolla sedans or hatchbacks. Instead, the Corolla Cross is an all-new model for the Toyota brand. Some of the key features you won’t want to miss include:

  • 2.0L Dynamic Force Engine - with 169 hp and estimated combined fuel consumption of 7.4 L/100km on full wheel drive and 7.8 on All Wheel Drive
  • Available All-Wheel Drive
  • 5 Person seating capacity
  • Connected technology - including standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, wireless charging, and available 8” multimedia touchscreen
  • Standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 with a suite of advanced safety systems
  • New TNGA-C Platform - Toyota New Global Architecture-C platform with a low centre of gravity for a more connected road feel and responsive ride
  • Hidden Logos - 22 Corolla Cross logos are hidden throughout the vehicle for you to find!

Design Features

Available in three grades – L, LE, and XLE – the versatile design of the Corolla Cross is spacious, modern, and high quality. Some of the key design features include a distinctive black grille flanked by LED lighting with black body accents, and from the rear, an integrated rear spoiler and LED lighting. Wheel options range from 17-inch steel on L to 18-inch alloy on XLE.

Inside, the Corolla Cross can be outfitted with a power moonroof, as well as either single or dual-zone automatic climate control. SofTex-trimmed seating is also available, as is a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and heated front seats also coming standard.

In the back, storage space can be maxed out with the 60/40-split folding rear seats that come standard on all grades. To make access to the roomy cargo area even more convenient, the Corolla Cross also has an available power liftgate with height adjustability.

Towing Capacity and Fuel Efficiency

The Corolla Cross is equipped with a 2.0L Dynamic Force engine, which creates a punchy 169 horsepower and a physical first gear that provides an engaging driving experience, all while providing exceptional efficiency.

For those who opt for the AWD, Toyota’s Dynamic Torque Control system can direct up to 50% of power to the rear wheels when it’s needed and it disengages completely when it’s not. This feature helps the Cross maintain great fuel economy estimates, with a manufacturer estimated 7.4 L/100 km combined fuel consumption for the FWD model, and an estimated 7.8 L/100 km combined fuel consumption for the AWD model.

Additionally, every Corolla Cross, no matter which trim package you choose, is capable of towing 1500 lbs.
