What’s Covered by Toyota’s Extra Care Plan?

Toyota’s Extra Care Plan is Toyota’s extended warranty program that is available for both new and used Toyota vehicles. Several different levels of plans are available, each going far beyond the standard coverage of Toyota’s Factory Warranty. Each level of plan has its specifics, but we’ve provided an overview here for your convenience.

Extra Care Protection Plan Overview


Mechanical Protection

  • Coverage of the major mechanical component groups (specific groups covered depends on plan.)
  • Your choice of terms, with the right amount of kilometre limits to meet your needs
  • Service from any of the 1,500 Toyota Authorized Dealers

Oil and Filter Program (First 8 Lubrications Only)

For certain plans, the ECP covers your first 8 oil changes, along with a thorough check up on the proper functioning of the most used components of your vehicle.

  • Replace engine oil and filter
  • Remove and inspect air filter element
  • Lubricate locks, latches and hinges
  • Inspect lights, horn and windshield wipers for proper function
  • Inspect coolant, brake and washer fluid levels
  • Inspect tires for damage and wear

Emergency Road Services and Towing

Tire Road Hazard Protection

This service is available on certain plans and provides coverage on your original tires for up to 36 months/50,000km.

  • Tire repair or replacement
  • 100% reimbursement
  • No prorated adjustments
  • Installation and balancing

Vehicle Rental Assistance

If your Toyota needs to be serviced and requires you to leave your vehicle at the shop overnight or any extended period of time, ECP will help cover the price of a rental car.

  • Daily car rental allowance of $40/day for up to 5 days
  • Receive an additional 5 days if parts are on backorder
  • Benefit from up to $400 rental car coverage per incident

Trip Interruption

If a covered component fails while you are more than 300km away from home, ECP will assist you with any lodging or meal expenses incurred while you wait for your vehicle to be repaired.

  • Receive up to $100/day for up to 3 days. Total of $300 coverage per incident.
  • Hotels

  • Alternate transportation

Trip Planning Assistance

Driving out of town for business? Taking the family on a road trip? With certain ECP plans, you can call the toll free number and receive personalized assistance in planning your trip.

  • Highlighted road, city and vacation maps.
  • Tour and accommodation directory
  • Alternate routes and trip log
  • List of Toyota dealers en route
  • A package listing historical sites, attractions and entertainment along the way

Mechanical Breakdown Towing

If your vehicle breaks down on the road, ECP will assist you in having your vehicle towed to your preferred Toyota dealership within 50 Km, or to the nearest Toyota dealership within 300 Km.

If you need a tow, simply call Toyota’s toll free number for assistance: 1-888-TOYOTA-8. Towing assistance is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and you can receive up to $250 in assistance per incident.

Accident Towing

If you get in an accident and need to have your vehicle towed, ECP will cover the towing costs from the accident site to your preferred Toyota Dealership within 50 Km, or to the nearest Toyota Dealership within 300 Km. If needed, a second tow will be provided from an accident reporting centre.

Additional Services

Receive up to $100 support towards the following services:

  • Boost a dead battery
  • Provide key lock out services
  • Deliver gas if you are stranded
  • Change a flat tire
  • Winching from a ditch
