Kicking off the month of September, The Georgetown Fall Fair promises fun for the whole family and is a must see event if you’re in the Halton Hills area!

Going into its 173rd year, the fair showcases home crafts, antiques, livestock, an agricultural awareness tent, live entertainment, a demolition derby, a children's centre, food vendors, and a 4x4 truck pull. Georgetown Toyota is a co-sponsor of the event.

During Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, rides cost $2 per ticket. A sheet of 20 tickets costs $35. Most rides take two to three tickets per ride.

On Saturday you can purchase a special bracelet for $35.00 that will let you enjoy rides from 10 AM to 5 PM or 5 PM to closing time. You can save $10 for the bracelet when you buy one in advance at Squirt’s Toys & Learning Co, located at 211 Guelph Street in Georgetown. Sales are cash only, and end Sept 6 at 6 PM.

One of the main draws to the fair is sure to be Battle of the Bands 2019. A contest pitting participants aged 14 to 24, the bands will be judged by seven criteria, including:

  • Song selection
  • Performance
  • Song Composition
  • Crowd Response
  • Marketability

Other attractions are specifically geared towards children. A sand pile with toys and free games is open all weekend long. Saturday and Sunday will feature a petting zoo with farm and exotic animals. But that’s not all! The kids will love the Tractor and Tailgates Scavenger Hunt, located in the Homecraft Building. Two prizes of $25 will be awarded. Meanwhile, children will fall in love with the Education Activity Centre, where there will be butter making, jigsaw puzzles, matching games, healthy food activities, a planting experience and crop displays.

Cash, debit, MasterCard, and Visa are accepted for entrance to the fair, and there are a variety of ticket options to fit everyone’s needs:

  • Three-day adult pass ($25). Can also be used by three adults for one day;
  • One-day adult pass (Friday and Saturday are $8, Sunday is $10);
  • One-day child pass ($3 any day);
  • Children age six and under (free).
