An Auto Safety Recall occurs when the manufacturer of the vehicle determines that a component has a safety-related defect, or does not comply with federal safety standards. In the event of a recall on your vehicle, you will be notified by the manufacturer, and provided steps on how to have the recalled component replaced. Recalls are a rare occurrence in the automotive industry, but in the event that your vehicle is recalled, our professional staff will be there to assist you in every way possible.

How Do I Find Out if My Toyota Is Recalled?

If you are wondering if your Toyota vehicle is currently affected by a safety recall, please submit an online request here. One of our team members will get in touch with you shortly, letting you know if your vehicle is subject to a recall. Or, you can click here to go to Toyota Canada’s site, where you can enter your VIN number to find out if your vehicle is subject to any safety recalls.

Otherwise, when a recall occurs, Toyota will notify you directly and provide instructions to take the steps required to resolve the issue. Here is a brief overview of what the process looks like.

1. You’ll Receive a Safety Recall Notice in the Mail

If your vehicle is recalled, you’ll receive a safety recall notice in the mail. In the notice, you will be informed of which part or component is defective and needs to be replaced, as well as any risks involved with the defective component. You will also be notified what to do next, and most importantly that YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED FOR THE REPAIR.

2. Bring Your Car into the Dealership

The recall notice you receive in the mail with telling you where to take your vehicle for the recalled component to be replaced, most likely the Toyota Authorized Dealership that you purchased your vehicle from, or regularly have your vehicle serviced.

To make your experience as smooth and easy as possible, simply book a service appointment either through our online scheduler located here or call our service department. You can also check our Recall Information Page and fill out your vehicle’s information.
